Three of the schemes that will be featured at Pure Origin is STANARD 100®, STeP® and MADE IN GREEN®.

MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® is a traceable product label for garments or textile items. A label bearing MADE IN GREEN® proves that the product has been tested for harmful substances and that it has also been manufactured in STeP by OEKO-TEX® certified facilities. The swing tag or garment label bares a QR code which details the entire life cycle of the product; communicating to the customer exactly how and where the textile item has been processed throughout the product’s lifecycle.

STeP® stands for ‘sustainable textile production’ and is an independent certification system for retailers and manufacturers from the textile and leather industry. STeP® certification is intended for factories and textile manufacturing facilities who aim to communicate their commitments to sustainable manufacturing in a credible and transparent way. STeP®’s latest programme, The Impact Calculator, provides production facilities an initial estimate and assessment on the materials and process steps that contribute most to their overall environmental impact.

Finally, STANDARD 100®, is an independent testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products, from fibres through to finished garments. If a textile article carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every component of this article, i.e. every thread, button and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances.

With over 100 years’ experience, Shirley® provides unrivalled and expert reassurance through their technical laboratory services to a global network of clients. We look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with brands who have a long-standing association with OEKO-TEX® certification.

We look forward to seeing you at the show!
