UPGRADED EXPOSURE TESTING FACILITIES

Shirley® have recently completed the upgrade of our weathering and irradiance degradation exposure facilities at the Manchester laboratory.

Shirley® now operate five separate and individually controlled QUV ultraviolet exposure machines, operating to the requirements of BSENISO4892-3:2013. The machines are fed from a communal deionised water system within the controlled laboratory environment, ensuring complete and accurate control of the various operating cycles specified in the various EN and ISO test methods and specifications.

Shirley® have also recently completed the upgrade of our leaching and hydrolysis degradation exposure facilities, moving and collating all test equipment into a dedicated area. This allows the controlled exposure of geotextiles and other polymeric materials to long term immersion in water or specified test liquids at all temperatures up to 95 degrees Celcius.

For details of our capabilities in this area please see the "Degradative Exposures" page or contact ian.strudwick@shirleytech.co.uk
